Café Specials Board

This project is a custom café specials board created for a small business in the Castel Madama region outside Rome, Italy. The board was designed and built to serve as a durable front-of-house piece that reflects the café’s identity while standing up to daily use.

The board is made from solid hardwood, Walnut & Cherry, two contrasting species to provide visual separation and highlight the engraved logo. The surface features a smooth hand-finished profile with rounded edges for comfortable handling. The café’s branding is engraved directly into the wood to ensure longevity rather than relying on applied graphics.

We worked with the client by providing various renderings to scale the board to their service needs and to integrate their existing logo into the design in a clear, readable format. The final piece is finished with a food-safe protective coating suitable for hospitality environments.

This project demonstrates our capability to collaborate with small businesses, incorporate branding into hardwood pieces, and produce functional display items alongside larger furniture commissions.
